What to Expect at Your Massage

Please try and arrive at least ten minutes prior to your session if it is your first time working with me to allow time to do a brief intake form.

Clients will arrive in a quiet, comfortable and clean environment. We will briefly discuss your specific needs and injuries, then I will leave the room to prepare for your treatment while you undress to any degree that you are comfortable with. Depending on your specific needs, you will either start facing up or down fully under the sheets or blankets on a clean massage table. I will keep you appropriately draped at all times, only uncovering areas that I am working.  In the Thai style of massage, no oil is used, and all work is done fully clothed on a mattress on the floor.

My style of massage is integrative, so I will be incorporating many techniques to address any issues I find, with your permission.  This may include doing a hybrid style of western and Thai style techniques.  This massage is to your benefit and yours alone and I hope to work together to achieve your goals.  I encourage open communication around pressure as well as discomfort of any kind.  I will be checking in with you throughout your session to ensure your needs are being met to the best of my ability.

Beyond pain relief from small aches and pains, massage is an essential component to maintaining overall health in the mind, body, and spirit.

We often get a massage when we feel "stressed out" or when an unavoidable pain in the back or neck surfaces.  These are simply put, symptoms of the nervous system and patterns of our everyday life that have now surfaced in the physical body that can no longer be ignored.  Incorporating massage into your overall healing plan can be beneficial in a number of ways including:

  • Stress Reduction and Relaxation

  • Increased Immunity

  • Improved Digestion

  • Improved Well-being

  • Pain Relief

  • Increased Energy and Athletic Performance

  • Increased Flexibility and Improved Mobility

  • Postural Re-balancing

Swedish Massage

Deep Tissue

Addresses deep acute and chronic issues happening in the muscles and connective tissue.  Integrative techniques such as Neuro-muscular, trigger point, and assisted stretching may be used to encourage spasm release.  Recommended for athletes or anyone with overuse injuries.

Lymphatic Massage

60 mintes

Manual Lymph Drainage is a full body technique that flushes the entire lymphatic system for increased immune response, hormonal balance, purification, tissue regeneration, and increased metabolism.  Massage technique involves working on the lymphatic system that lives just under the surface of the skin. Strokes are light, systemized, and an extremely effective way to detox the body.

Neuro-Muscular Technique

Neuro-Muscular Technique (NMT) NMT is highly effective for clients who present with chronic pain and is often successful in reducing or eliminating even longstanding painful conditions. Some of the techniques can also be applied to acute injuries and for post-surgical care; may be  help to improve performance in sport or dance and to prevent injuries due to these activities.  See the Skier's and Mountain Biker's Tune-up to have your body working at its optimal state.

Thai Massage

Thai massage, Thai yoga massage, or Thai yoga therapy incorporates acupressure, energy meridian work, and yoga-like stretching.  Thai massage is different from many Western forms of massage in that there is no oil used, the therapist uses a mattress on the floor instead of a table, and the client remains completely clothed throughout the session.  It is like someone "doing yoga to you."  Thai massage applies deep but broad pressure making it the perfect complement to any athletic regime or sport.  It is best suited for increasing range of motion, circulation, opening of the heart, and deep calm.

Momma to Be

Prenatal massage addresses many of the musculoskeletal discomforts a woman experiences during pregnancy.  Additionally, the emotional and psychological effects of prenatal massage cannot be overlooked or underestimated, helping an expectant mother to achieve a sense of peace during an unsettling time.  Benefits include: decreases chronic muscle tension, restores postural balance, elevates mood and encourages loving maternal care, fosters deeper breathing, minimizes nausea, and prepares a woman emotionally, physically, and mentally for labor.

Post-Massage Stretch  |  add $20  | add 15 minutes

Sound Therapy |  add $15  | add 15 minutes

Sound healing has been used for thousands of years around the world to heal both mental and physical ailments. It is a very effective form of alternative medicine because it works directly on the body’s energy field and chakras rather than the body itself. When the energy body is healthy and balanced, its own natural healing abilities are enhanced.

When we experience stress, illness, injury, or emotional trauma, our subtle body becomes depleted of vital life force energy. Our immune system weakens, making us susceptible to disease. We lose our ability to heal ourselves naturally. Sound therapy uses the power of sound to restore balance to the body’s energy fields.

I will incorporate the use of crystal singing bowls around and on the body throughout the treatment as well as at the very end.

At the end of your treatment, I will leave the room and give at least 10-15 minutes of integration time for you to relax on the table undisturbed.

Often after a deep massage we go right back to slouching, sitting, or lying on the couch which ends of making us worse off than we were before. Give yourself the opportunity to heal faster and more effectively with this post-massage stretch.  We will target the areas you need most and you will leave stretches you can take home with you.
